Etiquette Classes should be Manditory

It has been my observation, over this past summer, that there is need for a new class to be taught in our Schools and that is a class teaching Etiquette. I am not suggestiong that this class should comprise of "use this fork for salad" and "you should send a thank you card when you recieve a gift",though these practices have been lost too, but instead one that teaches the importance of technology etiquette. Let me explain. I have noticed the ridiculous amount of people who have come to Subway (where I work) to order their meal with either a cell phone or even worse MP3 player attached to their ear. This means, they are preoccupied with their device and become very annoying as customers. They take too long to order because we are now in competion with the person on the other side of the phone or, they cant hear me asking "do you want cheese on that?" becasue they are in another world with Fall out Boy or the Pussycat dolls. As a result of this unnessicary competion, the service becomes slow and the costumers in line become anxious. I have also notice in my own home how we are robbed of communication and community living when these devices are present. Just the other day I was sitting in my living room with my husband (whom I love), my brother's in law (whom I love as well) and other neighbourhood kids (love love love). I realized very quickly that though there were many people in the room I was alone. You see 2 of them were playing videogames, 2 more were listening to their MP3 players (loud enough for us all to hear) and the other was on his laptop. We attempted to have a conversation with each other but we found we could never get the attention of those using their favortie peices of Technology. That is when this blog came to mind. Don't get me wrong, i do appreciate the convenieces of Technology, when they are used appropriately. I do fear though, that if things arent changed, we may loose human interaction as we know it. Tell me fellow bloggers, what are your thoughts? Do you suppose somthing could actually be done about this or are we doomed to live in a society where manners are lost.

There and Back

We have gone and have since returned and I have finally uploaded some pictures. If you are interested pics from the conference and the vacation are there. Our visit with family was so nice and to be honest it was rather difficult to leave but once we were on the road and much pray and tons of God's grace i stopped crying.. LOL Seriously though we had tons and tons of fun and are now enjoying some time with Chris' brothers Donald and Robert. They are 13 and 14 and are fitting in very well with the Madoc Gang. While we were home we Golfed, laid on the beach, played on the beach.. peed in the Ocean, ate Lobster, scallops(at smiths), haddock, mussels, damaged a golf cart, ran over a rock and lost a hub cap, went out with friends, celebrated my Parents 25th wedding anniversary, played bocci ball, walked the dogs, shopped, laid around, ate alot of Straw berries.. you know the usual vacation stuff.. anyway I really should get back to finding my house (everything got dropped when we got home) Jen

When The Cats Away...

The Mouse gets alot done! I have discovered that when I am home alone for an entire weekend I can accomplish alot. Chris left early Saturday for BC as most of you know from reading his Blog, so I spent that day scrap booking, doing the dishes (thanks hun), cleaning and packing for our Vacation. I also managed to meet with Skate Park people about our ALl girl Skate day, have a shower and get plenty of rest. Today I went for walk, read my bible, went to church, emailed some folks, visited with friends, had a swim, made supper, wrote this blog and updated my msn space. I aslo rearanged the Computer a little since this one is now mine to use. So, as I said I have managed to complete many tasks and find myself feeling well accomplished. This doesn't mean that I wish for my husband to go away more often, it does however, make me curious as to what else I might accomplish between now and Wednesday.

Heartache

I'm sad to say that Our family of two is going to be this way a little while longer. We have recently been informed that our baby never grew and will not be arriving in November. Our hearts are broke and yet there is comfort in knowing that Our Lord knew this baby even in the womb. We are trusting that we will still meet this baby someday, just not while we are here on earth. Thank you all for your prayers.

Home sweet home... and a growing family

We're all moved in, and I realize it's been forever since I blogged last, so I decided to update you about our move adn let you know week by week how our pregnency is going. Our move was very quick and we were settled within a few short days. I have almost all my pictures up and everything out of their boxes and into their new homes. The new place is very cozy which is nice, howver we seem to have accumilated more furniture then we need. Well the main extras are Chris' office things which hopefully will find a more perminant home elsewhere before November. You see his current office space is to become the baby's nursery then. We are trusting God and his people that it will all work out! I am doing very well, health wise that is. I haven't been sick at all just occasionally nauseated and very tired. Poor Chris has decided that he doesnt like "pregneant Jen" as I have been a little bit moody... Mostly on days when i am very tired! Okay so he'll argue that I'm ALOT moody, but thats ok because he still loves me. I will be putting pictures online once I start to really show.. right now I just look like I forgot to suck it in... but Im sure by next month I will look a bit different. Any way thats all for now Love Ya
